Gizmodo got a hands-on preview of the BlackBerry Curve 8900, codename Javelin, this week and apparently, they like it. The model was only a pre-production model, though, so BlackBerry will undoubtedly make improvements based off of these hands-on reviews.

Steve fit a lot of updates into today’s Let’s Rock event, but here’s a quick breakdown.
iTunes 8.0 brought everything we expected. Some slight UI changes and a new Genius feature that recommends songs based off of what you listen to most. It will also make custom playlists for you besides song recommendations.

Developers that were accepted into the iPhone Developer Program before July 11 were seeded the iPhone firmware and SDK beta 2.1. Both iPhone 2.0 and iPod touch 2.0 are fully available through iTunes, one problem however: DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR PHONE! The heavy use of iTunes to activate iPhone 3G’s today has completely killed the iTunes servers. After getting in line at 5:30 am to be the 11th, 12th, and 13th, the blargKABOOM team didn’t get out of the AT&T store until 9:30 since activation took a near 30-40 minutes.
