Apple pumped out a 246MB iPhone (and iPod touch) software update this morning, making the current version now 2.2.1. The firmware fixes stability issues in Safari and an issue with saving photos from Mail to the camera roll. Just plug your iPhone or iPod touch in and click “Check for Update” in iTunes. Apple released iPhone firmware 2.2 tonight, after many expected they would release the software update tomorrow morning. Containing new features for Google Maps, a revised Safari layout, bug fixes, and other small UI settings updates, the new firmware is pretty hefty at almost 250MB and is available now via iTunes.
