iLife ‘09, iWork ‘09 torrented with virus

Apple finally made iLife ‘09 available today and of course, being out for less than 12 hours, a version of the application suite has been leaked to torrent sites for download. The version, however, is plagued with a virus infecting the core of your Mac. Very similarly, iWork ‘09 was made available via torrents starting just a few days ago and was also bugged with a virus. A fix has been released for the iWork download, but just as a warning, be sure to check what you’re downloading from torrents, especially software like these newly released application suites, that could be infected with a virus.

(Thanks for the tip, Mark!)

  2. Some copies of iLife 09 do have viruses. I got one on my macbook air. It is a nasty one and will not allow me to access my computer at all. Be careful.

  3. I got it, what should I do? does anybody knows, my computer is acting crazy. First I thought it was the bluetooth or my wireless mouse and keyboard, but no, it’s that my mac is infected.

  4. my macbook got it too. the worm virus whatever started to delete applications randomly. first iphoto than dictionary.app than skype, i couldnt find a solution to this one and i reinstalled system.

i am wondering if this worm /virus has the ability to copy itself to time machine backups ?
