Today: Bill Gates last full-time day at Microsoft

Today, June 27, represents a major day in history. Today is Bill Gate’s last day as a full-time Microsoft employee. He will still step in once a week to check in, as well as remaining Microsoft’s Chairman and largest shareholder. The move will show Gates moving to a being a full time philanthropist and a bigger part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Steve Ballmer will be the new big man on campus at Microsoft after Gates’ departure. After starting Microsoft back in 1975, leaving the company will definitely be a change. Gates’ definitely didn’t need to work a day longer, though, with a net worth of $58 billion. Gates’ has, however, dropped after 13 years from his title as the richest man in the world, to the third richest after Mexican telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim Helú and the new richest man, Gates’ friend Warren Buffett.
