iPhone 3G takes a step backwards: purchase and activation in-store only

We’ve got some more 3G iPhone news, and this takes a step backwards from the original iPhone. Remember Steve Jobs calling at home activation through iTunes really revolutionary and much easier than in-store activation, well it seems Steve’s had a change of heart. Starting with iPhone 3G, activation is in-store only, so no more iTunes [...]

iPhone 3G: is it what you hoped for?

Yes, Apple announced the iPhone 3G today, but is it what you were looking forward to, was it enough. Well, with all the hype and rumor behind the product, it couldn’t have been as good as all the rumors said. Of course, it does have 3G and GPS, but there’s no revolutionary features there.

We didn’t get to see a video demo or any screenshots, but developers got a sneak preview at the next version of Mac OS X. Snow Leopard is the official name as Steve announced during the Keynote. That suggests that it will only have nominal differences to Leopard.

As we knew way back when Steve announced the 2.0 update in March, iPod touch users will have to pay $9.95 for the update.

Apple Store is down worldwide

The day of WWDC is here and just as predicted, the Apple Store is down. The outage is occuring worldwide, perhaps suggesting a worldwide launch of the 3G iPhone. It seems that all links international links to the Apple store, relink back to the main US site (when highlighting over the iPhone, Mac, etc tabs they show the US links.)  We’ll [...]
