‘iPhone no longer available’ in UK (UPDATE - 16GB back in stock, still no more 8GB)
Yup, you read correctly. O2 has halted sales of iPhone in the UK. Nothing to specific besides that “iPhone no longer available,” and clicking Find Out More on O2’s site doesn’t give you any more details. This comes after the 8GB model officially reached its UK end of life last month, and apparently stock will not be replenished. What’s odd is that Apple’s UK store still shows BOTH iPhone models (8GB and 16GB) as being available and ready to ship, so maybe O2 has stopped but Apple hasn’t. The fact is that it would be stupid of both Apple and O2 to stop selling iPhone for a long period of time, so what this most likely means is that they are phasing out the first generation iPhone and are paving the way for the second generation.
UPDATE - O2 now states that stock of the 16GB model is being replenished, but the 8GB is still “out of stock.”
