iPhone news: iPhone 3G is black with GPS, to include vibrating touchscreen?

iPhone is just always in the news, and these past few days is no exception. Here’s the latest word on iPhone:

  1. First off - at the beginning of the month, an image of a black iPhone claiming to be the 3G phone leaked around the net. Well, after digging on the part of WinandMac.com, the picture of the black iPhone was just a third-party casing available in Hong Kong.
  2. Next - Ryan Block, Engadget’s Editor-in-Chief, gives us all insight on the second-generation iPhone. He’s been chatting with someone who apparently has one of the test units, and it not only has 3G, but includes GPS as well. The device is also slightly thicker, has a new glossy black finish, has chrome volume keys, and no longer has a recessed headphone port.
  3. Lastly - Apple has been chatting up a storm recently, trying to license haptic technology (a.k.a vibrations simulating tactile feedback on touchscreens.) Apparently, Apple and Immersion, which recently implemented haptic technology into Nokia phones, have been in talks on licensing the technology and how to implement it. A coincidence here is that Immersion’s newly appointed CEO just happened to be a head honcho at Apple for five years.
