$399 “Open Computer’ runs Mac, but not from Apple
Psystar announced the Open Computer (originally dubbed OpenMac, but changed to avoid legal issues,) a $399 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM, and swappable graphics cards, with Mac OS X pre installed. The company talks about why people should pay a premium for Apple products, and that Psystar is much cheaper and offering the same Mac interface. The computers come with Leopard preinstalled, and come with the installation disc as well. The technology their using to run Mac on the hardware seems to come from the OSx86 Project, which provides a solution to run Mac on a Windows computer.
Does Psystar not realize that it cleary states in the Apple EULA (End User License Agreement) that you can not run Mac OS X on a non-Apple computer? Unless Apple’s legal team decides to take a nap for the period Psystar is selling this product, it seems that Apple will attack. There were rumors around the net stating that Psystar would challenge Apple’s EULA in court and many other things, but I’m guessing that those are all untrue. Psystar can’t be that ridiculous and expect Apple won’t sue them. They must have something up their sleeve, or else this is just a big waste of time. Psystar has answered very few questions on the matter, but say that some of the Open Computer’s have been shipped and that they are still selling the faux Mac.

apple sell osx seperately from the computer so their bundling will breach anti trust law as per microsoft and ie.
