In a shocking announcement earlier today, Blockbuster officially announced their bid to acquire Circuit City at between $6 - $8 per share. The announcement, which is as strange to you as it is to me, also mentions digital downloads which could mean Circuit City will go digital if the deal is a success. Today only marks the day of the public announcement, however, as February 17 was the date of the offer. Circuit City hasn’t done anything to move the deal forward, though, and Blockbuster is hoping to push the deal forward by going public.
