Google turns off the lights
Google turned the lights out on their homepage today in an effort to raise awareness for Earth Hour. The organization “invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone.” Google states that since they’re going green, they “strongly support the Earth Hour campaign.” Obviously, the black homepage represents turning off your lights and saving energy, but according to a study (ironically) by Google, black web pages may actually need more energy from flat-panel displays.

Saw that too. It’s great that Google cares about the enviroment and the people, not just for money. (Heard about Mountain View, CA’s free wifi?)
Hmmm I dunno, I kinda like this whole dark look on google… Maybe they should let us implement it? (except for the fact that it costs more energy
)
Keep up the great work!

Well awareness is important.
