Adobe Flash on iPhone status - POSTPONED: from “working on it” to “maybe this is harder than we thought”
Posted on March 19th, 2008 by Jonathan Friedman
Adobe announced late yesterday that they had started working on Flash for iPhone. Apparently, Adobe’s CEO Shantanu Narayen didn’t really understand the developement process for iPhone and spoke to soon. After clarification earlier today, he corrected himself by saying that they need to work on it with “Apple beyond and above what is available through the SDK and the current license around it.” Apple’s Steve Jobs recently stated that it will be a while before Flash comes to iPhone and it’s not that necessary. Even though Apple diminishes the need for Flash, Adobe is still very interested in an iPhone client.
