Apple introduced iPhone and iPod touch firmware 1.1.4 today, just specifying “Bug fixes” as details about the update. The update has no big changes, but it does fix bugs with Bluetooth, SMS, and apparently improves the cell signal. iTunes just overpassed Best Buy and is now the #2 music retailer in the US, trailing behind Walmart, based on the latest NPD Group data. Also, Apple announced that there are now over 50 million iTunes customers and over 4 billion songs have been downloaded.

Apple finally updated the MacBook and MacBook Pro today, giving both machines a faster CPU, and giving the Pro Multi-Touch. Both models feature Penryn processors, the MacBook Pro with a standard 2.4Ghz (up to 2.6Ghz) and the MacBook with a 2.1Ghz standard up to 2.4Ghz. Apple added a 2GB iPod shuffle to the line last week, and now its shipping. It comes in the same colors as the 1GB and is $10 cheaper than the old $79 price tag for the old 1GB model.
