Best 1.1.3 jailbreak method released for 1.1.2 jailbroken devices

Incase your counting, there are now four 1.1.3 Jailbreak methods out. This newest release is also computer-free except this release is both sanctioned by the iPhone dev team and its quite easy. This jailbreak is different than “iJailbreak” that we wrote about yesterday and is titled the “Official 1.1.3 Upgrader”, so it is definitely the real deal. This new method is really simple too. All you need is a 1.1.2 jailbroken iPhone/iPod touch and a strong WiFi connection. If you’ve already upgraded to 1.1.3, than follow the guide at hackthatphone to downgrade it or follow iPhone Atlas’s instuctions (If you’re using iPhone Atlas’s instructions, stop at Step 8 and finish using the the process described below.)

You will need to download the previous software updates for both 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 if you’re not already on a 1.1.2 jailbroken phone so the links are on iPhone Atlas and here (1.1.1 update) (1.1.2 update).

To use this new method: On your iPhone/iPod touch, open Installer, open the category “All Packages” and install “Official 1.1.3 Upgrader.” This will download everything necessary for the Jailbreak and will complete the process automatically for you.

I just tested the process coming from a 1.1.3 un-hacked phone, and it ended up getting messed up a couple of times. After a lot of reading, I’ve also found out that the phone doesn’t run as smoothly as before with the hack. So I think I’m gonna wait it out until the SDK is released.
