Qtrax claims to be a new peer-to-peer music downloading service, but the catch is–they’re downloading is not only free, but legal. Qtrax is a lot like Limewire, but Qtrax has apparently signed contracts with most major music labels to offer over 25 million free songs, but currently the PC only beta shows nothing. But according to the actual labels, no deals have been made. Qtrax states that service will run off of ads and sponsors to provide the free tracks. Qtrax has potential to be the next major peer-to-peer downloading service, but this can’t happen without an actual working version. By the way, Qtrax should be availible for Mac users on March 18th.
