AirMail: the manilla folder Macbook Air case is real

airmailcase.jpg

When Steve pulled MacBook Air out of an interoffice envelope during the Keynote, it was really amazing. It showed off the thinness of it and was great. But, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans decided to use Steve’s idea, and make it a real case. The case has the same look, feel, and size as the standard manilla envelope. It is made out of “durable upholstery-grade vinyl” and is lined “with fuzzy, soft fleece.” They say its sturdy enough to protect the Air from bumps and small cosmetic damage, but not anything too extreme. It’s completely handmade and they say that people will be receiving them in about two weeks (approximately the same time as MacBook Air). This is definitely a cool way to show not only show off that you have a MacBook Air, but it’s also an awesome way to show off its thinness. The AirMail sleeve retails for $29.95 and is available for order now.
