Office 2008 for Mac released

After almost four years, Microsoft has released a new version of Office for Mac. Of course, Office is known for its “Office Suite” featuring Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Entourage. The new version features a similar user experience as Office 2007 for PC’s. This version is notably the first universal version of Mac Office that’s been released, meaning that all of the major applications for Mac have switched over to being universal. Released yesterday (coincidentally, the same day as the Keynote), Mac Office 2008 was featured in Steve’s presentation. Several plugs for the software were strategically placed in the presentation including Steve using it in the demo for Remote Disc (showing an Office 2008 install disc) and announcing it in the beginning of the Keynote. The prices range from $149 ($130 from Amazon) for the Home & Student Edition to $399 ($239 for upgrade) for the regular edition and $499 ($299 for upgrade) for the “Special Media Edition”.
